Philippines orders all minors to stay indoors as Covid-19 cases surge

Manila, Philippines has tightened its restrictions amidst a recent surge in Covid-19 infections.

A strict ban has been put in place for all below 18-years-old from leaving their residences for a period of two weeks starting Wednesday.

Only those aged 18-65 years old will be allowed out of their homes, the Metro Manila Development Authority said.

Nighttime curfews have been reimposed since Monday for two weeks in Metropolitan Manila.

Additional measures such as liquor bans and localized lockdowns in areas with high infection rates have also been put in place.
