Qatar reports 216 new coronavirus cases
Qatar on Saturday reported 216 new COVID-19 cases and 201 recoveries, according to the Ministry of Public Health.
This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 110,911 including 3,159 active cases, while the total recoveries jumped to 107,578.
No new deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours, leaving the death toll so far at 174.
The ministry made it clear that measures to tackle COVID-19 in Qatar have succeeded in flattening the curve and limiting the spread of the virus and the number of new daily cases and hospital admissions is continuing to decline each week.
Qatar’s proactive and extensive testing of suspected cases has enabled it to identify a high number of positive cases in the community, the ministry said.
