BTEA Launches Tourist Passport In Eid Al Adha

The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) has finalised preparations for the launch of the “Tourist Passport” during Eid Al Adha. This initiative aims to attract tourists to explore and enjoy Manama’s diverse areas and attractions.

Sarah Buhijji, CEO of BTEA, said that this initiative is part of the authority’s celebration of Manama being named the Capital of Gulf Tourism for this year.

“We are delighted to introduce the Tourist Passport, inviting the world to visit Manama and experience its rich history, cultural treasures, and unique tourist destinations that blend tradition with modernity,” Buhijji said.

“We promise an enjoyable experience in Manama, showcasing its most prominent attractions and offering the chance to win valuable prizes through an exciting draw.”

Buhijji underscored BTEA’s commitment to continuously innovate in tourism and entertainment to attract more visitors year-round by launching initiatives that boost tourism and enhance Manama’s and the Kingdom’s reputation as a premier regional and global tourist hub.

The Tourist Passport will grant access to 18 diverse tourist sites, including cultural and heritage landmarks, beaches, entertainment and dining spots, and shopping complexes. Monthly draws for valuable prizes will be held, with each visitor’s chances of winning increasing based on the number of sites visited.

This initiative is designed to encourage tourists to explore and enjoy the wide range of attractions each site offers.

Prizes in the draw include two-night trips to Bahrain for families or couples, covering accommodation, meals, and access to various services such as massages and beach facilities. This also includes vouchers, special offers from hotels, and gift cards from shopping malls.

Tourists can obtain their passports at Bahrain International Airport, City Centre Bahrain Mall, or The Avenues. Each tourist site will feature a digital stamping platform where visitors can scan a QR code in their passport to confirm their visit, receive a digital stamp, and boost their chances of winning prizes. The passport will feature the slogan “Manama: The Gulf Tourism Capital.”

The Tourist Passport includes access to a variety of prominent sites such as Manama Souq Bab Al Bahrain, the Postal Department Museum, Bahrain Fort, Al Fateh Mosque, Bahrain National Museum, Al Riwaq Art Space, Al Khamis Mosque, Bait Al Salal “House of Basket Weaving”, Block 338, The Wharf – Bahrain Bay, Water Garden City, Bahrain Harbour, Reef Island, Moda Mall, City Centre Bahrain, The Avenues, Al Aali Mall, and Seef Mall.
