UAE’s Man City Owner Buys $199M Brazilian Football Club Bahia
UAE-owned City Football Group has announced the purchase of its 13th football club, after snapping up top-flight Brazilian side Bahia.
The owners of Manchester City paid $199m for a 90 per cent stake in the Brazilian side.
City Football Group boss Ferran Soriano highlighted the commercial potential of football in Brazil, which has given the world stars such as Pele, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo and Roberto Firmino.
The purchase of Bahia means there are now 13 sides in the group’s sporting portfolio.
