Kuwait imposes curfew on businesses, bans National Day gatherings

The Kuwaiti government imposed a series of restrictions to prevent the spread of Covid-19 after a new rise in the number of infections.

The Kuwait cabinet announced it had ordered the closure of gyms and salons. Other commercial businesses are to cease operating at 8pm to 5am every day for one month, starting February 7. Pharmacies, supermarkets and home delivery services would be exempt from the rule.

All gatherings, including National Day celebrations later this month, are banned.
