Dubai Municipality’s Ramadan Souq Opens Today

Dubai Municipality‘s ‘Ramadan Souq’ is set to begin on Saturday, running until March 9, 2024.

Held at the historic Old Municipality Street in Bur Deira, this traditional market celebrates the arrival of the Holy month.

The Ramadan Souq has become a staple event in Dubai, attracting citizens, residents, tourists, and visitors from the world over.

With its focus on offering a unique shopping experience at competitive prices, the event features a mini marketplace where various items and gadgets essential for Ramadan preparations can be found.

Moreover, special products for celebrating ‘Hag Al Laila’ are also on offer. Additionally, attendees can enjoy various services, live entertainment shows, and activities for children.

Dubai Municipality places great importance on the preservation and development of heritage sites and old markets throughout the emirate.

By organising a range of entertainment, tourism, and commercial events, the municipality aims to highlight the historical and cultural significance of Dubai, while also supporting investors and attracting investment.

Operating from 10 AM to 10 PM, the timing of the Ramadan Souq allows ample opportunity for visitors to explore the market’s offerings.

Among these markets is the Grand Souq in Bur Deira, commonly known as the ‘Al Dhalam Souq’ or Darkness Market, renowned for its diverse range of products. Additionally, the Plates Market offers kitchen essentials such as pots and trays. The area also features a men’s fabrics market and ‘Souq Al Manazer,’ which offers a variety of goods. Moreover, the ‘Al-Matarih Market’ is dedicated to the sale of armchairs and pillows (tikki).

Other notable markets in the vicinity include the food market, marine tools market, ‘Souq Al Khilak’ for fabrics, the perfume market, and the gold market.
