Bahrain Takes Lead in Global Gender Gap Report

Bahrain has achieved the highest gender parity in the GCC after the UAE, according to the Global Gender Gap Report 2023 issued by the World Economic Forum.

Bahrain ranked first in the world in four of the subindexes monitored by the report, which are literacy rate, educational attainment, and sex ratios at birth.

It recorded significant progress in the ranking, going up 18 ranks compared to last year’s report, as it reached 113th place this year.

Bahrain scored 66.6% in closing the gender gap, compared to the global average of (68%). The kingdom’s ranking improved at the level of MENA region, increasing by six places compared to last year’s report, placing it third in the region.
