UAE: Dubai Driving Licences to be Renewed Without Eye Test
The mandatory eye test to renew driver’s licence has been suspended by the Roads and Transportation Authority (RTA) in Dubai, effective from Sunday.
“You can now renew your license without conducting a vision test. Obtain a one-year online copy starting from March 29 on the RTA Dubai and Dubai Drive app,” the authority said in a tweet.
On Thursday, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) also issued a statement allowing drivers to renew driving licences that expire over the next three months using smart applications from Sunday.
Regardless of the violations, black points and medical examination, the licences will be renewed for a year from the date of application.
The decision has been made to enhance precautionary and safety measures against the spread of Covid-19 coronavirus.
