bh flag Bahrain: Public Hospitals To Implement New Dress Code For Medical Staff

Bahrain’s public hospitals are set to implement a new dress code for medical staff, aiming to improve the healthcare experience and enhance the visual identity of the facilities. The new system, which is expected to be fully operational by the end of 2024, will introduce a standardised colour scheme for different medical roles, making it easier for patients to identify and differentiate between staff members. The initiative, which has been under development for several years, is based on a comprehensive study conducted by the government hospitals. The study identified the need for a more organised and visually distinct dress code to improve patient experience and enhance the overall professionalism of the healthcare system. Under the new code, each category of medical staff will be assigned a specific colour. Consultants will wear dark blue suits with white shirts, while resident doctors and trainees will wear light blue suits with white shirts. Nurses will wear green uniforms with white shirts, and technicians will wear purple uniforms with white shirts. The new dress code also includes a standardised design for lab coats, which will be white for all medical professionals. This will ensure a consistent visual identity across all specialties and departments.
